How to Handbuild a Double Walled Vessel

Have you ever wanted to create delicate double-walled vessels, but throwing them on the wheel is too advanced?

Hi, my name's Cherie Prins from Cape Town, South Africa.
I will be demonstrating how to make a double walled mug with carving.

In this workshop, you're going to learn:
✔ How to prepare your clay
✔ How to use templates for mug-making
✔ How to create the outer double rim
✔ How to carve beautiful patterns
✔ How to glaze and decorate your vessel

This workshop is for anyone wanting to learn a new skill and challenge themselves. There are endless possibilities with this technique.

Cherie Prins
Owner of Ck-ramics Pottery Studio
Hi, this is me Cherie, behind the scenes I fight off gremlins with my rubber kidney and needle tool, I am a recovering Pinterest junky and I lay awake nights dreaming of what I want to make next!

In real life I am a mom of a gorgeous little girl, I run a household and run the Ck-ramics Pottery Studio machine.

I love encouraging people and never back down from a challenge. When I dream, I dream big and I thrive on excelling. I believe that no one ever has to settle with the cards they are dealt with, but with guidance, grace, and support one can achieve anything one sets out to do. Never dream too small, be patient, and be kind to yourself.

I was a student of Hennie Meyer way back when and then became his studio assistant for 4 years. Ceramics was one of my subjects in school and I loved the endless possibilities with clay. Some of my work is part of The National Museum of South African Art and I also supply to a few stores. I custom make items for a few companies as well.
